Rangoon Dusk

After reflecting on the challenges faced by Myanmar (Burma) yesterday, we wanted to leave you with a more pleasant image of the country for the weekend.

Shwedagon Pagoda - Yangon, Myanmar

Located in the capital city of Yangon (Rangoon), Shwedagon Pagoda is the largest and holiest Buddhist temple complex in Myanmar. At dusk, the sprawling temple grounds attract crowds of people hoping to light candles, burn incense, say prayers or simply enjoy a beautiful sunset.

P.S. Dan, I remember your family from the 500 block of Wheeler Ave (?) when we were kids. Your brother Jeff and sister Kim were classmates of my siblings- at Chapel School back in the 60’s. We grew up on the 12 of Linden St., played on the same playgrounds and ballfields in the Hill Section. Funny just how big the world is beyond these hills, eh?

Mentions of Wheeler Ave, Linden St, the Hill Section bring back memories for me. I spoke to my brother – any chance you have a brother named Tim?

The world is indeed both big and small at the same time.
