A keynote, breakout or workshop ought to be a memorable experience. Not just good enough, but something truly exceptional. To laugh, maybe even to cry. To reach deep down inside, to move the emotional needle. To be moved to action. Not only to learn, but also to have fun doing it. And when the event is over, to emerge knowing that you were part of something special, something different. Our aim is for attendees to think back often and reflect on lessons that will, in big ways and small, stay with them forever in their work and in their lives.
We understand how difficult it is to research speakers and to find the right fit. A Little Bit About Us
After almost 25 years combined experience working in corporate and non-profit environments, we left secure jobs at the end of 2006 on what was meant to be a 12-18 month creative sabbatical to travel around the world. During this break, we built our business and digital platforms while living and traveling in places like Laos, Uzbekistan and Argentina. Today, we run one of the world’s leading travel blogs, Uncornered Market, and are considered top travel social media influencers, differentiated by the fact that our messages, lessons and stories resonate in everyday life.
We have been married 14 years and have traveled to over 85 countries together. We know the difference between talking about something and actually doing it. Whether it’s moving to Prague, Czech Republic with six suitcases and no jobs, traveling across Central Asia and the entirety of the Silk Road by public transport, visiting Iran or climbing to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro, what drives us to action is continually asking “What if?” and pressing the boundaries of what we believe is possible. “Are you crazy?!” is a question often asked of us by our family, friends and colleagues.
We have spoken on five continents, including Antarctica. In all our presentations we weave together lessons we have learned through over seven years of traveling around the world together — risk taking, creativity, connection and empathy — and how to pursue and apply these themes in one’s day-to-day life and work. This is why we’ve been invited to take the stage at life inspiration events like World Domination Summit (WDS) or TEDx, as well as at travel conferences such as ITB Berlin, Adventure Travel World Summit (ATWS), TBEX-BlogWorld, and more.
Our values and passion: to be curious, to live deliberately, to care, to respect. We share stories of adventure and exploration to underscore the reality that each one of us is building something of value in our personal and professional lives.

University and Study Abroad
Dan and Audrey: challenging students and faculty alike to meet the world where it’s at, while preparing them for where it will be.
Each program below can be delivered as a 45-60 minute keynote or breakout session.
1. Study Abroad: Meet the Global Workplace Where It’s Headed
The global workplace landscape is evolving quickly. How to rise to meet it? Which professional skills will be valued most? How can students use study abroad to position themselves not only for today’s job market, but more importantly for that of the future?
In other words, “How can study abroad help students design their future selves?”
Drawing from their 15+ years of international experience in over 90 countries, Daniel Noll and Audrey Scott take an entertaining and refreshing look at how study abroad can prepare students with forward-leaning skills, for a future they help create.
They do so by asking us first to imagine our future selves. With this mindset, they offer:
- A look at where both global business and the workplace is headed, including the professional skills that will be in increasing demand in 2020 and beyond. How do these emerging skills overlap with those honed while studying and engaging abroad?
- A toolkit to enable deliberate decisions throughout the study abroad cycle, to shape one’s future self. This includes:
— Tips for choosing a program that not only delivers on an “experience of a lifetime,” but also helps build a meaningful experience portfolio.
— Tools to engage beyond the classroom, to discover opportunities which will enhance and showcase their personal and professional development.
— Frameworks and vocabulary to help students sell any international experience on resumes and in interviews when they return.
After this talk, students may never look at study abroad — or any life experience for that matter — quite the same.
Topics: Personal Growth, Professional Skill-Building, Inspirational, Immersive Travel Skills, Cross-Cultural Communication, Problem Solving, Overcoming Fears, Empathy.
Perfect For: University students and staff, especially those who are planning to study abroad and wish to understand how this international educational experience connects with professional skill building that can be used on the resume to stand out.
2. Travel: On the Edge of Possibility
Travel can be an education outside the classroom. Dan and Audrey weave lessons and stories from their seven years of traveling around the world to help us understand our changing world and better adapt to it. They illustrate the skills developed through immersive travel and living abroad including how to overcome fears, cultivate creative thinking, manage uncertainty, build shared accomplishments and communicate effectively. They share practical advice on how to make the most of a study abroad or international travel experience.

2. Make It Count! How to Make the Most of Your Study Abroad Experience
Study abroad is an excellent way to understand a new country, culture, language and yourself. The question is: What sort of philosophy and approach – not only to study abroad, but to life in general — can you use to squeeze the greatest value out of your international opportunities?

What Others Are Saying About Us
Here’s a sample of what a few of our clients and event sponsors and attendees said after we spoke. You can find a larger collection of client and audience testimonials here.
I saw Audrey Scott and Daniel Noll give a keynote talk at the World Domination Summit (WDS) 2012 conference in Portland. For me, their talk was one part inspiration and another part motivation...after their talk I decided to use what Audrey and Daniel taught me - to work with passion and to connect, to make an even bigger difference. I brought that passion to my direct role, but I also decided to tap into my skill set to offer career counseling to younger members of the military so that they could benefit and perhaps experience a softer landing personally and professionally when they returned home from service.
Dan Noll and Audrey Scott came to Providence College to speak with our students about embracing risk and leading full lives. Their presentation, “At the Edge of Possibility: What’s Travel Got to Do with it?” was precisely what we hoped for. They inspired students AND FACULTY and prompted campus conversation to move toward further internationalization.
Importantly, they listened intently to every detail I provided them about our campus and its population. Then they built their presentation from that audience awareness.
Dan and Audrey: what a team! The Rainforest Alliance proudly sponsored their participation at the 2013 People, Planet & Peace conference in Costa Rica. Dan and Audrey brought to this event a different perspective and opened the eyes of many tourism entrepreneurs as to how to tell stories in a way that is compelling, engaging and fun.
